The Moment Serena Williams Chased After a Man Who Stole Her Phone And Retrieved It

Surveillance video captured the moment a foolish thief tried to steal Serena Williams' cell phone and was caught when the tennis ace sprinted after him.
Serena Williams
Earlier today tori.ng reported the story of Serena Williams' superhero move. Serena Williams had posted the story on Facebook, saying she was out to dinner with a friend when a man came over and stood silently next to her at the table.

Now, a video taken from inside and outside the San Francisco restaurant - where Williams was dining with a male friend who appeared to be Reddit founder Alexis Ohanion - shows just what happened next when the athlete turned vigilante sprung into action after the man snatched her phone.

Williams wrote on facebook thus: 'Not thinking I reacted (hence the superwoman photo) I jumped up, weaved my way in and out of the cozy restaurant (leaping over a chair or two) and chased him down,' wrote Williams on Facebook Wednesday.

'He began to run but I was too fast. (Those sprints came in handy) I was upon him in a flash!'

The video shows that is indeed just what happened, as Willaims appears to effortlessly make her way through the crowd and is able to quickly catch up with the unidentified man.

And despite being the victim, Williams tried to give the idiot thief the benefit of the doubt.

'I kindly asked him if he "accidentally" took the wrong phone,' said Williams.

'He stumbled on his words probably not expecting this to happen. While he was thinking of the right thing to say and eventually he said "Gosh you know what I did! It was so confusing in there. I must have grabbed the wrong phone."'

Williams said she then thanked the man, took her phone and returned to her dinner.

HOT! 5 Ways to Turn a Woman on Without Any Physical Contact

You can't ever want to miss the opportunity to impress that woman with these remarkable and easy-to-do ways to wow that woman. GET IT!

Every man wants to know how to impress that one lady he is crazy for. The secret is not far-fetched. Get your eyes wide open and read these important details that will wow your dream woman.

1. Intelligence
For a lot of women, a smart man is a sexy man. Knowledge is power, and it can definitely intrigue a woman. Having the ability to carry on an intelligent conversation can have a very positive effect on a woman.

2. Being Considerate
When you do something considerate, it can make a woman feel special. And that can sometimes materialize into a greater attraction. Being mindful of her feelings and doing small gestures to show her you’re thinking about her can easily win you some points. You’re pouring into her emotionally and that makes her much more receptive to you.

3. Ambition
A man with no aspirations and no drive can be a huge turn off for a woman. Having passion and a purpose can really do it for her. It gives off the energy of a man who is about handling his business, and a woman loves to see that.

4. Assertiveness
Most women (if not all) are not turned on by a man they view as too soft and passive. Knowing how to be assertive and putting your foot down at the right time (in the right way) can cause that woman to melt right before your eyes. That doesn’t mean go out and behave like an a-hole, or treat her like she is beneath you. It just means stand strong, handle your business, and demand respect. If she can’t respect you, then she won’t have a desire for you.

5. Appearance
Even though men tend to be more superficial than women, don’t be fooled. She is paying attention, and she too wants something nice to look at. It doesn’t mean you need to have expensive clothes or flashy jewelry. Simply learning how to present yourself as well put together can do wonders. Know how to rock a suit, and that casual outfit. Don’t forget a nice pair of shoes. A lot of women are looking at your shoes whether you realize it or not.

HOT! 5 Things That Make Her Extremely Horny

Take her to the top of the roof with these mind-blowing love secret. Every woman will be moved by these moves. Don't miss it!

1. Your Sweat is The Trick: According to research from the University of California, Berkeley, it's your natural musk she's after. Scientists found that a pheromone in male underarm sweat causes a spike in women's levels of cortisol, a hormone associated with arousal and brain activation. The result? Your pit stains can improve women's moods and increase sexual arousal. Hallelujah!

2. Give Her a Tease dance: A recent study in Biology Letters found that women consider large, varied, and fast movements like head-nodding and torso-twisting most arousing on the dance floor, because they signal strength, suppleness, and vitality. The study suggests women prefer "vigorous and skilled" males—and dancing ability perhaps signals physical condition. (Hey, we'll take the researchers' word for it!

3. Dress Well in Red: Seeing red? In a University of Rochester study, women found men who were either wearing red or surrounded by the color to be more attractive and sexually desirable. Researchers attribute some of the connection to the historic use of the color as a symbol of wealth and power.

4. Come Along With Red Wine: If she picks a cabernet on the first date, it bodes well for the rest of the night. According to a study from the University of Florence, women who drank one to two glasses of red wine a day had higher levels of sexual desire than non-drinkers. Researchers also found a correlation between moderate wine consumption and higher levels of lubrication.

5. Talk About Your Favourite Places: about being in the right place at the right time. Research from the University of Texas at Austin shows that people who have just stepped off a roller coaster find the opposite sex more attractive. The study found that symptoms of physiological arousal—like heavy breathing and increased heart rate—tend to linger without our knowledge after any adrenaline-pumping activity, intensifying perception of attractiveness.

UNILORIN Releases 2 Certificates After 16 Years of Legal Battle

Two ex-students of the University of Ilorin have finally received their certificates after 16 long years of waiting.

The University of Ilorin has released the certificates of two ex-students withheld 16 years ago. This move has been lauded by the Education Rights Campaign (ERC), an NGO.

Vanguard reports that the affected students are: Mr Lanre Akinola and Mrs Rasheedat Adesina.

A statement released by the ERC said the degree certificates were withheld since 1999 and 2001 respectively as punishment for their involvement in students’ unionism and struggle to end military rule.

It said Adesina was Assistant Secretary-General of the UNILORIN Students’ Union while Lanre Akinola was member of Students Representative Council of the students’ union.

“The release of the withheld certificates has put an end to the erroneous belief of the administrators of academic institutions that they cannot be compelled to release academic results and degrees.

“It gives hope to all victims of repressive, dictatorial and vindictive administrations in every sector of the society that it is possible to defeat the oppressors.

“It also underscores the fact that the battle for justice may be long, victory is certain if we remain resolute and committed’’,
it said.

The statement listed the predicaments of the duo to include participation in anti-Abacha rally staged on campus on June 4, 1998 and students’ protest against poor welfare conditions on campus on June 5 of the same year.

“Their predicament with the university administration under the leadership of the then Vice-chancellor, Prof. Shuaib Oba Abdul-Raheem, started in June 5, 1998 following students’ protest against poor welfare conditions on campus.

“The anti-Abacha rally staged on campus on June 4, was organised by Joint Action Committee of Nigeria (JACON) under the leadership of late Chief Gani Fawehinmi.

“The released certificates indicated falsely that Lanre Akinola and Rasheedat Adesina graduated in 2015 instead of 1999 and 2001 respectively.

“Nevertheless, it is a victory for students’ activism, the poor and oppressed people of the society. It is also a confirmation that there is a limit to institutional enmity and lawlessness.

“This victory came after the judgment of the Supreme Court in 2014 upheld the judgment of Appeal Court which had earlier ordered the release of the certificates and awarded damages against the university’’,
the statement said.

Controversy as 2 Students Die from Occultic Initiation Concoction in Kogi State

In mysterious circumstance, two teenagers have been reported dead in Kabba, Kogi State in connection with a cult initiation by a confraternity in the town.

Close sources has revealed exclusively to Vanguard that two teenagers who just finished their secondary education this year, have been reported dead in Kabba, Kogi State, in mysterious circumstance.

It was learnt that their deaths were in connection with cult initiation by a confraternity in the town.

The parents of the teenagers when contacted by correspondents, said they were too devastated to speak to the press. They said that they did not want the incident reported for fear of police harassment.

A source who craved anonymity, said the boys died of complications which resulted from drinking a 'hard substance,' which was part of the initiation, adding that the boys voluntarily sought to join the confraternity.

"From what I gathered, one of the boys was given a very hard concoction to drink during his initiation into Eiye confraternity by the leaders of the cult group. The substance, which was laden with very hard drugs, led to the death of the poor boy," the source said.

A new twist has emerged in the controversy surrounding the teenagers’ deaths. Another account has it that the boy took performance enhancing drugs which overstretched his system and led to his demise.

According to this account, four teenagers were involved in taking the concoction known in local parlance as Sukudie and were rushed to the Specialist Hospital, Kabba, before two of them died. The two survivors, according to the source, are Ebira boys from Okene.

Mikel is Part of Our Problem - Chelsea's Club Legend Reveals

John Obi Mikel who has been in action regularly following the gross under-performance of first-choice midfield pair Fabregas and Matic, has been alleged to be one of the factors responsible for Chelsea's slump in their current campaign.
Alan Hudson during his days in Chelsea

Former English footballer,  Alan Anthony Hudson, who began his footballing career with Chelsea, and played there for six years as well as the England national football team, has argued that John Obi Mikel is one of the factors responsible for Chelsea’s slump in their current campaign.

The Super Eagles star, has been in action regularly following the gross under-performance of first-choice midfield pair, Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic.

However, Mikel has failed to impress and it’s perhaps little coincidence that some of his appearances for the Blues have coincided with their poorest results of the campaign.

The midfielder started in the 3-1 loss to Everton, the 2-1 away defeat to FC Porto in the Champions League, the Capital One Cup elimination at the hands of Stoke City and last weekend’s 3-1 loss at Liverpool. He also featured for 45 minutes in the Blues’ 2-1 loss away at West Ham United.

Mikel Obi celebrating after scoring for Chelsea

Alan Hudson believes that sub-par players like Mikel and under performing striker Diego Costa are the chief reason why the West Londoners are struggling this season.

"I think they need a facelift. You can’t carry on with players like John Obi Mikel, you need better players than that in midfield.
"They need a clearout of players. Branislav Ivanovic has been tremendous for them but he seems to have hit a brick wall at right back.
"When they bought Pedro from Barcelona at the start of the season I thought it would give Chelsea more width, with him on one side and Eden Hazard on the other, and they would open their game out a bit.
"They play through the middle too much and rely on Diego Costa up front too much. Costa, in my opinion, is nowhere near as good as people make him out to be," Hudson told Reuters.

Ben Carson Says Egypt's Pyramids Were Not Built For Pharaohs, But For...

U.S. Presidential hopeful and the world's most popular neuro-surgeon, Ben Carson, has debunked popular belief that pyramids were built for pharaohs
Ben Carson

Ben Carson has said that Egypt's pyramids were built by the biblical Joseph to store grain and were not, as archaeologists believe, tombs for pharaohs.

AFP reports that the retired neurosurgeon seeking his Republican party's nomination for the White House made these remarks in an address at Andrews University, a school associated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, to which he belongs, in a video posted Wednesday on Buzzfeed. The church is a conservative evangelical Christian one.

"My own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain," Carson said.

"Now all the archeologists think that they were made for the pharaohs’ graves. But, you know, it would have to be something awfully big if you stop and think about it. And I don't think it'd just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain."

Carson added: "And when you look at the way that the pyramids are made, with many chambers that are hermetically sealed, they'd have to be that way for various reasons. And various of scientists have said, 'Well, you know there were alien beings that came down and they have special knowledge and that's how, you know, it doesn't require an alien being when God is with you."

See the 8 Most Annoying Things Local Girls Do in Order to Seem Civilised

In order to feel among and to appear civilized, most Nigerian local girls adopt a certain manner that many consider very annoying.
*Insert picture is used for illustrative purpose*

1. They stop holding conversation with their neighbours.
This reminds me when Prof Tosyne2much said some ladies will stop greeting and holding conversation with their neighbours the moment they find their way into the university/polytechnic. There's no two way about this, only local girls act this way. After their first semester, they will return to the area and start behaving to neighbour that they are no more of the same class.

2. They scam guys
Some local ladies are even better than yahoo guys when it comes to scamming guys. Just because they need money for their upkeep, they will resort to scamming guys who show them love. Their purpose of going into relationships, is to seek financial support because they don't want to be left Behind.

3. They adopt fake accent
Some of them will even pretend that they don't know how to speak Yoruba even though their accent reeks of Ijebu. They adopt fake accent even though it's obvious that they have never been to ordinary Cotonou before. You may hear them speaking like the British and Americans especially when you approach them. Hardly will you understand what some of them are saying. cheesycheesy

4. They use bosom and butt enhancer
Though this is peculiar to an average Nigerian lady but the extent at which local girl do it, is annoying. You will seeing them wearing undersized bra, padded pant and bra to make themselves attractive to guys. As dem no fine, na to use butt enhancer.

5. Frequent uploading of DPs
I have observed that when a local girl is opportune to visit exotic shopping malls, she snaps numerous pictures and use it sporadically on her BBM as if she wants to contest for a pageant show. The most annoying thing is that she will write it on her PM having nice time at London.

6. They Claim "Hard to get"
Na dem dey do shakara pass when guys woo them. Their shakara is out of this world. They are always very selective. Give Jesus Christ to them and they will find something to complain about him. gringrin

7. They claim wealthy background
It's expected that every lady should take pictures at good background but the way some ladies do it, is very annoying. Some local girls can take pictures at exotic places and they will drain your megabyte with their frequent uploads gringrin

8. They go become secret Oloshos
This is a well known method for local ladies who exchange their kitty cat for money. These are the types you see saying they can't date their mates, rather, you flock around politicians, married men, 419s, etc, who never for once thought their destiny is at stake.

A lawyer who accused former Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom of corruption, has been arraigned in court for defamation, according to Premium Times.

Leo Ekpenyong was arraigned by the police at the High Court in Gudu District, Abuja. Mr. Ekpenyong appeared in court on Thursday.

He was charged for the alleged unsubstantiated allegations he made against top officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, while appearing on African Independent Television, AIT.

Mr. Ekpenyong had accused the EFCC of intimidating him, and refusing to investigate Mr. Akpabio. He had earlier threatened legal action against the EFCC, if it failed to investigate allegations of corruption against Mr. Akpabio.

Mr. Ekpenyong, who had sent several petitions to the commission, vowed to use every legal instrument available to ensure that Mr. Akpabio was probed.

In a four-page petition dated June 8, which was copied to President Muhammadu Buhari and sent to the online news platform, Mr. Ekpenyong had called for an immediate investigation and prosecution of Mr. Akpabio.

The commission later invited Mr. Ekpenyong on Monday, October 26, and interrogated him over the allegations he made during the television programme.

DSS Places Sambo Dasuki on House Arrest, Defies Court Order

Popular media reports have it that the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki has been placed on house arrest by security operatives as they lay siege at his house to deter him from leaving the country.
Sambo Dasuki

Operatives of the Department of State Services are laying siege to the Asokoro residence of the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), reports the Punch.

The operatives, in two black vans of the secret police, were at the gate of the residence of the former NSA as of the time of filing this report.

Investigations revealed that the DSS operatives besieged the residence of Dasuki with the intent to prevent him from embarking on a planned trip to the UK for medical treatment.

It was gathered that Dasuki was billed to travel out of the country on Wednesday night through a Lufthansa flight but had to call off the trip when it was discovered that DSS operatives were waiting for him at the airport.

He was said to have decided to postpone the journey to Thursday in order to avoid any incident at the airport. The source said the former NSA was surprised when his residence was again besieged by operatives of the SSS on Thursday.

The source said, “The SSS are raiding the residence of the former NSA, Dasuki again. We really can’t say why they went there. They were with two of their operational vehicles painted in black and are parked outside.

"You know that the man was to travel to the UK via a Lufthansa Flight on Wednesday night. The man had to call off the journey when it was realised that the SSS had gone to the airport to lay siege to him. Then, this morning, they went to the house, nobody knows their intention for now.”

It would be recalled that the Presiding Judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, ordered the release of the passport to Dasuki in a ruling on Tuesday in response to a motion filed by Dasuki’s legal team but the action of security operatives have defied the order.

The reason behind their action is currently unknown.

Batoul Mokhles al-Warar, a Syrian journalist was killed in a suburb of the capital, Damascus, amid intense clashes and shelling between government troops and rebel fighters as diplomatic efforts to end the country's civil war continued to falter.

The SANA news agency revealed that Al-Warar, a broadcaster at Noor al-Sham TV channel and Damascus radio station, was killed by mortar rounds fired by "terrorists"

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the journalist was killed in shelling of the government-held Dahiyat al-Assad neighborhood, which has been frequently targeted by rebel attacks.
