Hot! Check Out 5 Things Every Nigerian Girl Wants for Christmas

As the festive period gains momentum, here is a list of most important things a Nigerian woman would really love to have.

Black girls are often regarded as the most beautiful and intelligent group of women in the world. Although every lady has a unique taste, there are certain things each one of them crave and will not hesitate to include on their secret Santa list.

Below are a list items Nigerian girls want for Christmas. We hope that you get the clue and have a couple of laughs as you read on.

1. A great food processor
Although many comedians and tabloids have tried to portray Nigerian girls as fast-food lovers, the truth is that they love to cook!

With the modern technology making cooking easier and faster, the average Nigerian girl has a food machine on their ‘Santa’s list’. Get her a food processor with several blades and functions, and you are on your way to stealing her heart.

2. Husband
This applies to the single girl. African women are raised to be homely and family-oriented, and so a majority of them who are above 25 and yet unmarried have the intense longing for a husband with whom they can start a family with.

While most of them will never admit it, a glance on their wishlist will reveal snagging a “husband” as Number 1. If you are dating a Nigerian girl, this Christmas might just be the best time to propose to her, that way you help both Santa and yourself. Also, if you are a single brother, ready for marriage and searching for your ‘missing rib’…go find a sister and propose.

3. Gym membership
Keeping fit and looking trim is the new trend for Nigerian girls, especially those in Lagos, and so, a majority of them are saving their hard earned registered in gym – the idea basically is to look like most of the celebrities.

Unfortunately, not all gyms offer great services and those who are unable to gain gym membership at the top sweatshops where they can get great work out, keep wishing for membership. They hope that somehow, Santa will touch someone to get them registered in one of the gyms, and for free too.

4. An unlimited cash account
Forget Nigerian girls, every single human in the country and the world would do almost anything for an unlimited expense account. Shoes, clothes, hair, spa time…they all cost money, and usually, for the average lady, it is a bit of a challenge getting everything you need to stay on top of the fashion game.

Also with an unlimited expense account, it would easy to set up dream businesses and live an organized life. While they know there is a slim chance of this wish coming true, these girls still include it on their list in faith.

5. Calorie- Free Alcohol
Christmas is a time for merriment and celebration. And truth be told, there is no party without alcohol! Unfortunately, drinking every night at the festivities is all fun and games until it is January and you look less like Toke Makinwa and more like Lepacious Bose.

Alcohol in some way, tends to add fat to the thighs, belly and arms. So, some girls who believe they can eat their cake and have it now want calorie-free alcohol. Let’s hope Santa has something in store

Why Buhari Insisted on Having Amaechi & Fashola in His Cabinet - Prof. Itse Sagay

"Who are the people who wrote petitions against Amaechi and Fashola? Primarily, they are this same people who are afraid of being probed," Prof. Sagay speaks out in explosive interview.
Prof. Itse Sagay

In this exclusive interview with Premium Times, a professor of Law and the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption, Itse Sagay, has spoken about the reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari insisted on having Rotimi Amaechi and Babatunde Fashola in his cabinet despite massive opposition.

Read excerpt below;

Critics of the present government say they are targeting only PDP members. That there’s an Amaechi or Fashola who had also had petitions written against them yet nothing was done to them. What do you think about that?

Who are the people who wrote petitions against Amaechi and Fashola? Primarily, they are this same people who are afraid of being probed. Who thought these two strong men being in Buhari’s government will so strengthen that government. That the contrast between it and the Jonathan government will be so strong and that they themselves will be exposed. Do you think Wike will want Amaechi to be in any government?

He would not. He is so frightened of Amaechi, if he could destroy him he would have destroyed him long ago. There’s nothing he had not done to destroy him. With Mama Patience. There’s nothing they haven’t done. It’s just that the guy is such a clucky, strong, energetic, and witty fellow that just got himself out of all that. Then they just cooked up a panel made up of sympathetic, pro-Wike judges who went there parading themselves in a most dishonourable manner. So it’s nothing to be taken seriously.

The same thing with Fashola. Some people did not want Fashola to be in this government and so they just decided that the best thing to do is to tarnish his name, tarnish his record, which the whole world respects. From the United States to Australia, to the Middle East, to even the United Nations, everybody knows that Fashola has the best record in governance that this country has had since Awolowo.

So they just wanted to destroy all that over night because they were frightened of him becoming a minister. That’s why I have a great respect for Buhari. He was unmoved. He was unshaken. He just kept his cool. And when he now came out, what did he do? He made Fashola the symbol of his government. Fashola is the number one minister in this country today. And Transport given to Amaechi is equally important, because we are talking of railways, highways, aviation, and so on. Buhari knows what he is doing most of the time. He doesn’t talk much.

But do you think this government’s fight against corruption so far has targeted only opposition elements?

No. It hasn’t. You see, what is happening, I’m a little bit in the know of this, this government is not going out of the way to look for people to prosecute. No. They are prosecuting people whose corruption is jarring them in the face. Corruption that is virtually blocking your road, you cannot move unless you move it out of the way. That’s the type of corruption we are facing. Corruption that has crippled this government now.

So when they talk of corruption of Obasanjo, Yar’adua, all these people, that we should go back to that, no complain about that. But if we don’t clear the last five years, the type of corruption we have seen is mind-boggling and not only that, they are all close. You can see the way the NSA’s office was turned into a bazaar. Even after Buhari was elected, they still transferred money, over 27 billion to NSA’s office, after the election.

We have to deal with those first. How can you now go back to 1960, to Shagari and so on when you have this low-hanging fruit right in your face. It makes no sense. So it’s not a question of discrimination. It’s a question of going after the obvious, the immediate, the most threatening which has to be taken care of before you move on.

Happening Now: Abuja Court Judge Excuses Self from Case as Nnamdi Kalu Objects to Trial

Nnamdi Kanu who was arraigned today, has told the court before commencement of the prosecution's plea that he preferred being held in the detention, than subjecting himself to a trial, which outcome will not be respected.

A federal High Court judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed, has recused himself from hearing treason charges brought by the government against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

He announced the decision today, Wednesday, December 23rd in Abuja after Nnamdi Kanu objected to the case, saying it was needless, as the federal government had repeatedly disobeyed previous court rulings.

Nnamdi Kanu, who was arraigned before Justice Mohammed, told the court before commencement of the prosecution’s plea that he preferred being held in the detention, than subjecting himself to a trial, which outcome will not be respected.

He said his previous trials had various outcomes that were abused or neglected by the office of the State Security Service, (SSS). He therefore stated his outright objection to the trial in the court.

Mohamed Diri, the counsel to the prosecution, who is also the Federal Director of Prosecution, office of the Attorney General, told the court that based on section  396 (2) of the constitution, the defendant had no right to object to being tried by the court until after the plea is heard.

But the judge said he was standing down from the case, saying Kanu had the right to reject the trial, 'after all justice is rooted on confidence.'

"If any of the parties has no confidence in the court, he has the right to say so", Mr. Mohammed ruled.

He noted that the prosecution would have done the same thing if they were in Kanu’s shoes. "Assuming it was the prosecution, if they had no confidence in the court of jurisdiction; would they not have done so?. I hereby remit the case file to the honourable chief judge of this court to reassign it," the judge said.
