The transgender passenger who was completely humiliated by the experience described it as "incredibly degrading and demeaning" .

 

The man was subjected to a full body scan at the airport, thought to be in Australia, after which a staff member donned two pairs of gloves to handle the p*nis, saying,"you want me to touch that thing with my bare hands?"

 

The incident, which allegedly took place in 2015, is the subject of a complaint made via the National LGBTI Health Alliance in Australia to a Senate committee inquiry on airport and aviation security.

 

The LGBTI Health Alliance released a statement noting its worries over the "climate of pervasive discrimination against LGBTI populations."

 

According to the passenger, the body scan alerted security staff to the prosthetic he was wearing.

 

 

He told Daily Mail Australia: "I explained to the officer at the scanner that I am trans and that I was wearing a prosthetic, to which he responded that he would need to get his supervisor."

 

He added that the staff member seemed "more concerned with displaying his authority and making a spectacle out of the situation"

 

The private search, he says, was "demeaning" and "unnecessary" and left him feeling anxious as he was taken to a small room and given a form to sign.

 

After the search, he says he was forced to put his prosthetic back in black with two staff members watching him.

 

He stated that the ordeal made him feel like a criminal, adding: "I have had to deal with some very confronting situations in the past so have developed a thick skin, but this experience overshadowed what was meant to be a holiday and it has left me feeling incredibly degraded and has made me anxious about travelling."

 

The complaint has been lodged with an ongoing Senate investigation which is due to publish its findings in May.

A bricklayer in Edo state has lost his life in a most inexplicable circumstance after he was butchered to death by deadly cultists.

It was learnt that out of the $2.1 billion arms funds, N400 million was transferred from ONSA to the company on November 24, 2014 which previously had a balance of N6, 676,576.06 only before the major transfer from the Office of the National Security Adviser under Sambo Dasuki.

According to the Vanguard, a top source in the EFCC said that Metuh was also receiving a monthly pay of N4 million from ONSA.

The source said Metuh was likely to spend the night with them given the weight of financial transactions in ONSA traced to him and his company.

“We arrested Chief Metuh this morning (yesterday) and as we speak he is still being questioned and it is not likely that he will be released today.

“We want to finish the interrogation of Metuh at once, so that we can decide whether to charge him to court or let him to go,” the source said.

Metuh, has, however slammed his arrest by the EFCC, claiming that he was being persecuted.

“I have not done anything unlawful. Whatever I have done in pursuance of my office, I can defend it anywhere, any time,”Metuh said.

Buhari Didn't Withdraw 2016 Budget - Presidency

Reports went viral in the media that President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the withdrawal of the 2016 national budget to reduce the N19 billion budgeted for the presidency.

The presidency has denied the reports yesterday in a national daily that President Muhammadu Buhari had withdrawn the 2016 budget estimates that he presented to the National Assembly on December 22, 2015, describing it as untrue.
 

In the same vein, the Senate denied knowledge of the withdrawal, saying if there’s a need for adjustment in the budget, the president will merely send it to the National Assembly while it is being considered without any necessity for its withdrawal.

Speaking with journalists on behalf of the presidency at the National Assembly yesterday, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, said budget withdrawal was an official matter which could not be done in secret but could only be done through official correspondence between the Presidency and the National Assembly.

According to him, if there is any need for adjustment in the budget, it would be done at the background through the relevant committees after the second reading of the Appropriation Bill without any need for a withdrawal as claimed by the report.

In his bid to buttress his submission that the budget was not withdrawn, Enang told some National Assembly correspondents to come to his office and see the document lying intact.

He said: “To my knowledge, the budget as laid by Mr. President on the December 22, 2015 is still with the National Assembly and has not been withdrawn. If there is a withdrawal, there is always a communication and budget is not a sensitive thing that it cannot be dealt with behind the scene. It can be worked on behind the scene after second reading. After second reading, the different committees will work on the budget but it has not been read a second time so, it cannot be dealt with before then.”
