The magnitude of financial crimes allegations against the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP has led to more interesting revelations as he has spent the night in the detention of the EFCC.

It was learnt that out of the $2.1 billion arms funds, N400 million was transferred from ONSA to the company on November 24, 2014 which previously had a balance of N6, 676,576.06 only before the major transfer from the Office of the National Security Adviser under Sambo Dasuki.
According to the Vanguard, a top source in the EFCC said that Metuh was also receiving a monthly pay of N4 million from ONSA.
The source said Metuh was likely to spend the night with them given the weight of financial transactions in ONSA traced to him and his company.
“We arrested Chief Metuh this morning (yesterday) and as we speak he is still being questioned and it is not likely that he will be released today.
“We want to finish the interrogation of Metuh at once, so that we can decide whether to charge him to court or let him to go,” the source said.

Buhari Didn't Withdraw 2016 Budget - Presidency
Reports went viral in the media that President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the withdrawal of the 2016 national budget to reduce the N19 billion budgeted for the presidency.

The presidency has denied the reports yesterday in a national daily that President Muhammadu Buhari had withdrawn the 2016 budget estimates that he presented to the National Assembly on December 22, 2015, describing it as untrue.
In the same vein, the Senate denied knowledge of the withdrawal, saying if there’s a need for adjustment in the budget, the president will merely send it to the National Assembly while it is being considered without any necessity for its withdrawal.
Speaking with journalists on behalf of the presidency at the National Assembly yesterday, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, said budget withdrawal was an official matter which could not be done in secret but could only be done through official correspondence between the Presidency and the National Assembly.
According to him, if there is any need for adjustment in the budget, it would be done at the background through the relevant committees after the second reading of the Appropriation Bill without any need for a withdrawal as claimed by the report.
In his bid to buttress his submission that the budget was not withdrawn, Enang told some National Assembly correspondents to come to his office and see the document lying intact.
He said: “To my knowledge, the budget as laid by Mr. President on the December 22, 2015 is still with the National Assembly and has not been withdrawn. If there is a withdrawal, there is always a communication and budget is not a sensitive thing that it cannot be dealt with behind the scene. It can be worked on behind the scene after second reading. After second reading, the different committees will work on the budget but it has not been read a second time so, it cannot be dealt with before then.”

A female reporter who tweeted that being killed by ISIS was better than living under their "humiliating" rules has been killed.
Ruqia Hassan, who also went by the name Nisan Ibrahim, was a reporter and activist for Raqqa, a human rights group.
Abu Mohammed, founder of the group, tweeted that her last words were: "I’m in Raqqa and I received death threats, and when ISIS [arrests] me and kills me it’s ok because they will cut my head and I have dignity its better than I live in humiliation with ISIS [sic]"
Ruqia openly spoke out against the Islamic extremist group on a number of occasions. One of her last Facebook posts mocked ISIS for shutting down Wifi signals across Raqqa.
She wrote: "Go ahead and cut off our internet, our messenger pigeons won't complain."
It is not known when she was killed. Her family were informed of her death just three days ago. She is believed to be the first female citizen journalist to be killed for reporting within Syria.
