Five Criteria Ladies Use in Disqualifying Suitors (Must Read)

There are some major hurdles a male suitor must scale before being considered for marriage by most Nigerian ladies.

1. Age Difference: Speaking with different Ladies i observed and noticed that among the many perequisite for choosing life partner stands tall the Age difference. Often, Ladies as gathered, prefered men older than themselves; 4 at minimum. Only the shameless few prefer younger ones. Dating a girl? check the difference to know your fate!

2. Romance And Sexual Prowess: Since it is a lifetime thing, romance is significant as much as sexual strength. Most ladies according to my research engage this method in disqualifying potential suitors.

3. Understanding: Like I have briefly explained in my coming novel, Understanding is a key dertermining factor in choosing a life partner. Before a Lady can choose you as a Life partner there is this neccesity to meet the understanding gauge, anything below is "to your tent O Isreal"

4. Wealth: Define it anyway you want, wealth rules. I'm not talking about money, everyone has money; you do, i do even if it is #10. But wealth not all have got. And that, has been the cruel criteria with which Ladies disqualifies suitors.

5. Character:
Bad morals? Check it my brother, celibacy is your call.

President Obama Set to Make First Presidential Visit to American Mosque

With less than a year left in the White House, Barack Obama is still notching up firsts. On Wednesday he will make his first presidential visit to a mosque on American soil.
President Barrack Obama

Seven years into his presidency, Barack Obama will make his first trip to an American mosque on Wednesday, offering a high-profile rebuttal of harsh Republican election-year rhetoric against Muslims.

Obama, whose grandfather converted to Islam, will make the short trip to the Islamic Society of Baltimore mosque, where he will meet community leaders and deliver remarks. He has visited mosques in Malaysia, Indonesia and Egypt as president, but has yet to visit one of America's 2,000-plus places of Islamic worship.

Much of Obama's foreign policy agenda has focused on improving ties with Muslim nations, from making a nuclear deal with Iran to ending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. But the effort has been stymied by continued confrontation with jihadist groups and military strikes in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria and Yemen.

His latest effort to ease interfaith relations comes as a shrill election debate has sullied America's image abroad and jihadist attacks in San Bernardino and Philadelphia threatened to shatter post-9/11 religious solidarity at home.

Six days after the 2001 attacks in New York and Washington, then president George W. Bush visited the Islamic Center of Washington, declaring "Islam is peace."

Today, Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump has wooed conservative voters by demanding a ban on Muslim immigrants, while frontrunner, Ted Cruz has advocated Christian-only admissions and championed"Judeo-Christian values."

"We're seeing all this right wing anti-Muslim hate. It's the perfect time for him to come," said Riham Osman of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, an advocacy group.

The White House is keen to offer an image of America that stresses the country's secular tradition and contrasts with Republicans' "divisive rhetoric."

White House spokesman, Josh Earnest said Obama will"affirm the important role that Muslim Americans play in our society" and argue that "law-abiding Americans should be able to worship God in the manner that they see fit."

"And they shouldn't be subject to ridicule or targeting by anybody, let alone somebody who aspires to leading the country," Earnest added. "We have seen an alarming willingness on the part of some Republicans to try to marginalize law-abiding, patriotic Muslim Americans, and it is offensive."

Obama is also likely to restate his case that organizations like the Islamic State group pervert Islam and do not represent the vast majority of Muslims.

The United States is home to around 3.3 million Muslims. Around 81 Muslim-Americans were involved in violent extremist plots in 2015, according to the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security.

But Obama is expected to call on Muslim leaders to help tackle radicalization.

"We know that there are extremist organizations like ISIL that are seeking to use social media to radicalize vulnerable members of the population," said Earnest. "Certainly the leaders in the Muslim community have a strong interest in preventing that from happening."

Indian Firm Develops World's First Vaccine Against Zika

A leading Indian company has made history by becoming the first company to develop world's first vaccine against Zika virus.

An Indian pharmaceutical firm claimed on Wednesday to have developed the world’s first vaccine against mosquito-borne Zika virus.

Dr Krishna Ella, Head of the Biotech International Limited, the company, based in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh’s capital Hyderabad, said at a news conference that it has already filed for a patent for the Zika vaccine.

“On Zika, we are probably the first vaccine company in the world to file a vaccine candidate patent about nine months ago,” he said.

Ella said the firm has sought the Indian government help for carrying out human and animal trials for the two candidate vaccines, which have been developed by its scientists, using a live Zika virus.

The claims came a day after the World Health Organisation said that the Zika virus poses a global public health emergency requiring a united response.

The virus has been linked to cases of microcephaly, in which babies are born with underdeveloped brains.

There have been around 4,000 reported cases of microcephaly in Brazil alone since October.

However, till date, there has been not a single reported case of Zika virus attack in India, though the government was said to have tested a number of samples.

Father Mbaka Speaks on Not Collecting Money from Buhari

Popular man of God, Father Mbaka has spoken on his relationship with Buhari and the only request he made when they met at the presidential villa.
Ejike Mbaka and Muhammadu Buhari

Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of the Adoration Ministries Enugu (AMEN), says God has blessed him to the extent that he does not curry favour from politicians who come to him for prayers, according to TheCable.

Mbaka said that as at the time he prophesied that President Muhammadu Buhari would emerge victorious in the 2015 election, he had not met the president; and when he finally met him, he did not “collect a kobo from him but demanded good governance for Nigeria”. He was speaking with reporters for the first interview since his transfer from Christ The King Parish, GRA Enugu.

“When eventually I met Buhari when I went for prayers at Aso Rock, what I demanded from him was good governance for Nigeria,” he said. “I didn’t ask him to give me one kobo. One kobo of Buhari has never entered my hand.”

Mbaka said God had a reason for taking him to Our Lady Parish in Emene, a suburb of Enugu. His position this time around was different from that of Saturday when he was departing from Christ The King Parish where he served for over 20 years. The cleric had nursed concern on where the assets of his ministry would be kept, saying he would suffer.

“I am going to suffer because I have no place to lay my head; I am going to suffer because I have no place to keep the ministry’s assets. The Adoration Ministry is passing through suffering right now,” he had said. But while speaking at an interactive session with journalists, he appeared to have accepted the transfer with equanimity.

How Rapist was Caught and Arrested 32-years Later Using DNA Test (Photo)

A monster rapists who has been apprehended after advanced technology using DNA test revealed shocking crime of over 32-years.
Henry William Drennan was caught after 32-years through DNA Test

Henry William Drennan, 58, was arrested at his home in Scotland more than three decades after attacking his victim in Manchester in 1984. The victim awoke with Drennan's hand over her mouth and a pair of scissors against her before he raped her while her child slept nearby.

Drennan, of Spey Court, Wishaw, Lanarkshire, pleaded guilty to rape at Manchester Crown Court last December and was today sentenced to 10 years jail, put on licence for 18 years and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Drennan's sex attack took place on January 13, 1984, when the then 29-year-old woman was sleeping in her home. Her husband had left the house early that morning, leaving his wife and their young child asleep in their beds, the court heard.

Drennan broke into the house while the victim slept, and entered her bedroom without waking her. The first thing the victim knew of the attack was the sharp instrument, thought to be a pair of scissors, held against her by Drennan, who had clamped his other hand over her mouth.

He then raped her, before asking if she had any money and telling her not to report the rape to anyone. After he had fled, the victim immediately went to check on her child, before calling her husband, who alerted police to the attack. Police investigations revealed forensic evidence, but DNA technology at the time was not sophisticated enough to use the samples.

Greater Manchester Police's (GMP) Cold Case Unit re-opened the investigation in 2009, but even then the DNA technology available was not sophisticated enough to progress the case.

Henry's sentence was handed at the Manchester Crown Court

But in early 2015, with the introduction of the latest generation of DNA profiling methodologies, detectives finally had the opportunity to crack the three decade-old investigation.

A sample first taken from the victim in 1984 was tested using the new technology and in July 2015, a DNA profile was developed which matched that of a known offender, Drennan, who had his details recorded on the DNA database.

Outside court, Detective Constable Michaela Clinch from GMP said: "This case has taken a horrific toll upon the victim, who has suffered for more than thirty years as a result of Drennan's attack.

"The initial impact upon her was horrendous, she had been raped at home in her own bed, where she should have been perfectly safe.

"She was scared to be alone in her own home, scared to go out, scared to take the bus to visit family, scared to live her day-to-day life.

"Even now, 32 years later, she will suffer vivid flashbacks of the whole terrifying ordeal out of the blue.

"The conclusion of this investigation 32 years after it was committed should serve as a reassurance to the public that GMP's Cold Case Unit never considers such horrendous cases to be closed until justice is served.

"It should also serve as a warning to other offenders that we are onto you."

The First Time My Son Asked Why? - Actress Omoni Omoli Shares 5 Tips for Raising an Inquisitive Child

In her latest post, multi-award winning actress, has shared the story of how her youngest son asked her the dreaded 'why' question when she told him to do something.

Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli who is a mother of three boys, a busy movie star and film-maker, has taken to her blog to share bits and pieces of her life as a mum which can get really tasking.

In her latest post, she shares the story of how her youngest son asked her the dreaded 'why' question when she told him to do something. She explains how it can be easy to rebuff a child in that instant but why it is important to use it as a learning point.

Below is how she narrated it in her post;

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, started out on a busy note. Well, the weekend is always busy especially for us mums. So many chores and as always, so little time to handle all of them but I managed to get all of them done. Phew!

Oh oh who messed up this place again? Who else would it be if not him? I said to myself. My little son! There he goes again running round the house. I felt so angry at first and wanted to spank him hard, but somewhere inside me an inner calm surfaced and I changed my mind. But, not without a hard warning of “The next time you run around on a wet floor I will beat you, you heard me? Yes, he answered. Now go inside and sit quietly okay. “It is bad to run on a wet floor” I said, as he made his way to find a seat. As soon as he heard those words he turned and asked, ‘but mummy why?’ Several emotions ran through me… Did he just ask me why? I think I felt challenged and the only thing I could say was “I said get inside” in a more defining tone and he left.

Getting back to my chores, I replayed our little scenario and I smiled. My son is growing and he is growing healthy and today he’s asked his first question ‘why’? I should have answered his question I thought. Yes he deserves to know. So I made my way back to him where he was gently seated and sitting beside him I said “Do you know why I said that it is bad to run on a wet floor? No, He said. So I took out time to explain the danger in doing so, after which I hugged him tight.

Of all the wonderful attributes of a growing and healthy child, perhaps one of the most easily recognizable is their peculiar nature of being inquisitive, which they actively express by asking a barrage of questions in their never ending curiosity. I have noticed this in a number of children even before I became a mum myself but more of it especially with my personal experience as a mother.

The truth is that children are born learners and natural explorers and as soon as they start to speak, they exhibit their innate eagerness to explore, asking questions and seeking answers and most times even your best answer only leads to yet another question. However, rather than see this period as a time of unnecessary trouble, caring parents should see this stage as one of the most important stages to express love, care, understanding and commitment. I believe that the more inquisitive and curious a child is, the more his ability to learn.

With the ‘Grow Every Day’ campaign, every child has the right to be properly developed in their journey to adulthood and being inquisitive is part of the ways a growing child exercises this right. Your child’s ability to ask questions is a natural manifestation of his inquisitiveness. The implication of this is more questions which help to improve your child’s intelligence. In fact a study proved that Children with higher intelligence usually ask more questions with both visual and linguistic stimulus.

Here are five things that you can do in raising an inquisitive child. I have found them effective in making the most of the curiosity of my kids.

1. Create an arousing environment: it is important to create an environment that arouses the child’s curiosity, this is because children spend much time of their hours in focused gazing, so create the scene, amazing toys and objects that allows the child explore should also be made available. Natural environments like parks, zoos, beaches and others can also increase curiosity.

2. Ask questions too: Children are not the only ones who should ask questions, it is imperative that caring parents ask their children questions too, to help them improve their urge to ask. Ask him questions like; why do you want this? What do you think about this? And get his mind and view on events and occurrences. It is a mutual exercise, if you ask him often about things; he will learn to ask too.

3. Answer questions according to the child’s development stage: Be attentive and sensitive to the growth stages of your child and answer questions according to his/ her development. This will allow you to progressively move up with your child in the growth process and reflects your deep care, concern, love and commitment.

4. Follow up on your child’s interest: Endeavour to make your child’s interest a priority; Children learn a lot when they engage in activities that capture their attention and imaginations. Look out for what interests your growing child. If he loves to dance, play him some good tunes, if its soccer, provide a ball and spend some time to play with him/her.

5. Allow open ended activities: I have tried this approach and have found it effective, don’t be rigid in your engagement, let your child’s curiosity be the guide sometimes as you allow them play with toys and play materials creatively and imaginatively in their own way. You can find great joy in making the most of the inquisitive nature of your growing child; remember to stop seeing the inquisitive child as disturbing kid. Be assured that your kind efforts through this process can be both rewarding and productive.
