Chaos As Sheriffs Storm P-Square's Residence to Make Property Seizure on Court Orders

The home of popular pop superstars, the sensational P-Square, have been taken over by court sheriffs who have a court order to seize property at the residence.

Lagos High Court Sheriffs stormed the home of music duo, P-Square, at about 5.30 this morning with a court order to seize property following a judgement against them.

According to LIB, when the Sheriffs arrived at P-Square's home, the security men at the gate refused them entry, saying the brothers were not home. However, the sheriffs allegedly forced their way in injuring one security guard (pictured below).

Speculations have been rife about what the problem might be that warranted seizure of the music giants' home but one source who spoke anonymously has revealed the real background.

The source revealed that some years ago, there was a show in Benin that the P-Square brothers were supposed to perform in. They were reportedly paid N1million for the gig, but when the brothers arrived Benin for the show, they were told that the show had been postponed till the next day. P-Square however, refused to stay till the next day and returned to Lagos.

The organizer of the show who was enraged, demanded for his money back and when he didn't get it, he took the case to court. He got a court judgement and promptly moved to Lagos.

The source further said the case had been in court all this while but the P-Square brother's weren't really aware of it as no one represented them. It looks like judgement may have been passed in abstention, which brought the court Sheriffs to their home today.

They tried to tow a vehicle after showing the papers brought from the court but no one would allow them take any car away.

I Won't Allow Masquerades Testify Against Me - Nnamdi Kanu Blasts FG Today in Court

Director of Radio Biafra who appeared in court for trials today in Abuja has opposed the application of the federal government to protect the identities of witnesses in his trial, describing them as 'masquerades'.

Embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has opposed the application of the President Buhari-led federal government to protect the identities of witnesses in his trial, describing them as 'masquerades'.

As the hearing of the application of Radio Biafra director began, counsel to the Department of State Services (DSS), David Kaswe, the prosecution, informed Justice John Tsoho of the federal high court, Abuja, that there was a possibility for witnesses to refuse testifying against Kanu, without protection.

David Kaswe, the prosecution emphasised that it was important that witnesses be protected in the trial, explaining that the crux of the application was to seek the protection of witnesses, and not to cause a secret trial.

Counsel to Kanu, Chuks Muoma (SAN), argued that what the prosecution was asking for was a secret trial, and prayed the court to draw a distinction between a closed trial and protection of witnesses. He added that the application implied that masked individuals would be testifying before the court.

However, the prosecution countered his argument, saying that most of the witnesses were civilians who reside in the location of the accused person, and were as such vulnerable to influence. "We also ask that these press men will not make public identities and residential locations of these witnesses," he said.

Citing section 364 of the 1999 constitution (as amended), Muoma, said that there was no provision for 'masquerades' to testify as witnesses in a case as such as that of Kanu. He explained that protection of witnesses could only be applied to terrorism cases, and not to that of his client, who is facing charges of treasonable felony.

"An accused person under our jurisprudence must be confronted with his accusers eyeball to eyeball. My lord, it is compatible and common sense with jurisprudence that you cannot accuse someone in the streets in public and try him in the bedroom."

After listening to the arguments of the counsel, the judge adjourned the matter to 2:00pm for ruling.

Nigeria's Economic Woes Worsens as Major Trouble Hit Forcados and Oil Lifting Suspended

As Nigeria is already bleeding from the impact of low oil prices with revenue dipping month after month, another major disaster in the oil industry has hit the nation's depleting economy.
Forcados Oil station

Premium Times has exclusively reported that Nigeria’s crude oil export operation has suffered a serious setback following a major crack-up of a giant underwater pipeline at the Forcados export terminal as crude oil lifting h‎as now been suspended at that platform following the incident.

It was gathered that the pipeline which is described as a big artery in the nation’s oil production, was said to have suffered a huge rupture under circumstances that are at the moment still hazy.

An insider at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) disclosed to a correspondent "With export now cut as a result of the incident, oil revenue will descend even lower until the pipeline is fixed."

According to industry experts, repairing the pipeline might cost the country as much as $100 million.

Sabotage by Niger Delta militants is completely ruled out but the same cannot be said at the moment of rogue elements within the system who are known to have in the past orchestrated similar damages in the hope of benefitting from the repairs and clean-up contracts that must follow.

Forcados terminal in Delta State is one of Nigeria’s biggest terminals with capacity to export about 400,000 barrels of oil a day. Illegal interference with pipelines, with attendant leaks, has always dwindled crude oil receipts into Forcados, a terminal operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).

It was gathered that the latest incident at Forcados occurred about 10.55pm last Saturday but it wasn’t until Sunday that Shell discovered a spill.

Forcados is made up of two parts: namely the Tank Farm which receives crude oil produced from oil wells in Delta, Ondo, Edo and parts of Bayelsa States, and the Crude Oil Loading Platform where ships must come to lift crude.

The affected pipeline links the tank farm and the platform. Insiders say it is a very mighty pipe on the waterbed going to the sea. The ruptured section of this key pipeline is located at Tokebeleu, near Ojulagha, an Ijaw village in Delta State.

Media Relations Manager of Shell, Precious Okolobo, in a written response, said his company was already investigating the source of a crude oil spill observed on water around Forcados Terminal on Sunday February 14, adding that the initial investigation would enable the company to quickly determine what suitable response was further needed.

He said Shell’s joint venture and third party production into the terminal has been suspended as a precautionary measure while the company’s Emergency Response and Oil Response teams have been activated to manage the incident.

In what appears as a large-scale disaster management, Shell said booms and other oil containment resources were being deployed to the area to try to stop the spread of spilled oil.

“The support of industry group, Clean Nigeria Associates (CNA), has been enlisted for a comprehensive response to the spill. The relevant authorities including security agencies have been informed of the incident, preparatory to a joint investigation visit which will determine the cause and volume of oil spilled,” Mr Okolobo said.

The spokesperson for the NNPC, Ohi Alegbe, declined to comment for this story.

An Indian girl born with three legs has been handed her life back after doctors battled to correct the abnormality which has brought so much fear in the hearts of the girl's parents.
Varsh Sena was born with three legs

Doctors have successfully operated on a baby girl born with three legs. She was born with an extra leg sprouting from her back due to a rare condition which affects one in a million infants.

The Two-year-old baby named Varsha Sena, from Delhi, was born with two legs, and a third limb growing sideways out of her spine.

Doctors say Varsha suffers from a rare condition called polymelia, which causes a person to be born with extra limbs, often arms or legs. The successful surgery was performed by Doctors at the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital, Delhi who successfully removed the extra limp.

The lead surgeon, Dr Daljit Singh, said: 'The baby was suffering from polymelia.

'It is a condition in which is a person is born with more than four limbs. We have not seen such a case in the last fifty years.

'This was the first case of polymelia in which the spinal cord had developed into an additional limb.'

After seeing her baby for the first time, her mother, Komal Sena, 24, said she was scared of her child.

She said: 'I was scared when I saw my daughter for the first time.' Now, everything has come back to normal. The successful operation has given Varsha her life back.

Polymelia is a rare disorder which occurs in the womb when the cells form abnormally during embryonic development.

The embryo begins to develop as conjoined twins. But one twin stops growing, leaving the remaining developments - often limbs - of the undeveloped twin attached to the body of the live baby.

A 15-year-old boy has been beheaded by ISIS for simply listening to Western music.

According to Daily Mail, the boy, Ayham Hussein, was arrested by militants after allegedly being caught enjoying pop tunes on a portable CD player in the group's Iraqi capital Mosul.

He was dragged before a Islamist kangaroo court which sentenced him death in a public execution.

A spokesman for the Nineveh media centre said: 'Ayham Hussein was captured by the jihadis while listening to pop music at the grocery store of his father in the Nabi Younis marketplace in western Mosul.'

His body was reportedly handed over to his family on Tuesday.

The execution, believed to be the first for listening to music in the city, has sparked outrage among locals.

The source added: 'There was no formal decision by the sharia court that bans listening to western music.'

It is now popular knowledge that ISIS has imposed its own sickening brand of medieval justice across swathes of territory in Iraq and Syria, executing prisoners for so-called 'crimes' such as blasphemy and being homosexual.

In a statement two years ago, the terror group also banned 'music and songs in cars, at parties, in shops and in public, as well as photographs of people in shop windows.'

It added: 'Songs and music are forbidden in Islam as they prevent one from the remembrance of God and the Koran and are a temptation and corruption of the heart.'

I Will Be President Till I Die - Africa's Oldest President Insists, Refuses to Give Up Power

The president of Zimbabwe who is really advanced in age has refused to relinquish power insisting that he will rule till he dies.

Robert Mugabe

Robert Mugabe, the 92-year-old Zimbabwean President, on Thursday maintained that even though his party would choose a successor, he planned to contest the next election in 2018.

Mugabe, who would be 94 by 2018, insisted that he would still seek his last five-year term under a new constitution that would see him through to 99 years old.

He said with reference to the UN Chief, Ban Ki-moon statement calling on African leaders not to cling to power, Mugabe responded that he would continue “until God says ‘come’’.

Mugabe, who turned 92 on Sunday, said he had no intention of stepping down in spite being Africa’s oldest leader and the only president Zimbabwe has known since independence in 1980.

He said as the president he still remained in charge of day-to-day running of his government.

His wife, Grace Mugabe, a powerful figure in ZANU-PF in her own right, told party supporters that he was the only one who could keep Zimbabwe “intact and peaceful”.

She added that she would push him in a wheelbarrow to work if he was unable to walk.

Eldred Masunungure, a political science lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, noted that from analysing the political situation, his political speeches, his political actions, it is increasingly becoming clear that he is gunning to be there for as long as he lives. He said in spite his old age, Mugabe remained the glue holding together his fractious ZANU-PF, which dominates the political scene.

Masunungure said the president enjoyed support from the military, an institution that has been a major pillar of his long rule.
