Today, Our Country Has the Fastest Growing Economy in Africa and the World - President Buhari

In what appears to be like a 'joke of the year', President Buhari made a Statement Yesterday, February 18th, that Nigeria presently has the fastest growing economy in Africa and the world.

Speaking at the public presentation of a book, "Nigerian Century" written by Dare Babarinsa at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, yesterday, February 18th, President Buhari who was represented by former governor of Ekiti State, Segun Oni, said Nigeria presently has the fastest growing economy in Africa and the world.

Mr. Oni who is the deputy chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South, said

"Yes, our land is blessed by providence with riches in oil and gas, iron ore, gold, limestone and almost all the minerals of this earth. Our soil can grow almost any crop and our vegetation supports animal life as varied as creation can manifest.

"Our rivers and coast lines are rich with fishes and various kinds of life. Yet, despite these bounties from nature, I have no doubt that the greatest blessings of Nigeria are the people of Nigeria, the wonderful people that give expression to the grandeur and majesty of our beloved country.

"Today, our country has the fastest growing economy in Africa and one of the fastest in the world. Our dominance is not so much because of our wealth, but because of the tremendous energy and resourcefulness of our people. How many countries of the world can parade the likes of Professor Wole Soyinka, Jay Jay Okocha, King Sunny Ade and Alhaji Aliko Dangote literally under the same roof?," he said.

Romance: Don't Marry a Man With these Characteristics

There are some certain characteristics in a man that speak volume of some hidden bad habits in him which much attention must be paid to.

Below are some behaviours in certain men that spell doom of a marital union with them:

1. A man that doesn't love and respect his mother:

There is a thiny line between a mommy’s boy and a man who genuinely loves his mom. A man should love his mother and respect her even when he disagrees with her. If a man doesn’t respect his mum, what makes you think he would respect you? He shouldn’t be a mommy’s boy with no backbone but he should respectfully disagree with her if the need arises.

2. A man that beats his sisters:

Forget that he is the older one or that his parents approve of it. There is a natural imbalance of strength between a man and a woman. A man that feels it is okay to beat his sisters won’t think twice before hitting you. His sisters are his blood relations and yet he hits them, how much more you? If he cannot protect his sisters, what is the assurance that he will protect you?

3. A Man that is money conscious:

This type has only one thing on his mind, ‘make money’ by whatever means whether good or bad. In the long run, he would probably do something that will embarrass your family. He also believes his money should earn him your respect irrespective of his character.

4. A man that can't cook:

Just ask yourself some simple questions. What will happen to your kids or even to you if you are sick and bedridden? What will happen to your kids if you happen to travel? What will happen to your kids if by nature of your job, you close later than your husband? Finally, what will happen to them if peradventure you die untimely? Will they starve? Or will your husband replace you immediately even if the new mother is not a good person?

5. A man that will not cook:

This is quite common in our society. He can cook but he chooses not to because they find it quite demeaning. Truth is, this says a lot about how he sees you. If he believes only you should do the degrading chores around the home, it is because he believes you are a lesser human than him. Even if you are dying, this one will rather buy food than cook, so Run!

6.
A man that believes you owe him:

This type thinks he is doing you a favour by marrying you so he obviously won’t respect you and expects you to take anything he dishes out to you.

7. A man that flaunts kids on social media:

There is a new trend lately of men with children all over social media. They are usually all lovey-doves with them but don’t be deceive. Half of these men probably don’t know how to change diapers so once again the pressure is on you to always make the children look good or you will hear it.

8. A man that believes its normal to cheat:

It is not and will never be normal to cheat. It is a lie from the pit of hell that so many believe and so many more perpetuate. If you agree with this, then you agree that every man has a place in hell already which we know is not true. What is wrong is wrong and everybody doing it will not make it right. If you marry someone with this mentality, you know what to expect.

9. A man who can't answer to you:

Woh! this one will show you pepper in marriage. A fi mu e fon fere. You cannot question his actions or inactions o. He will not be accountable to you on how he spends money, where he goes, what time he comes in, etc. He will make and take decisions that affect the family without consulting you and without giving any tangible or logical reason. Awon team ‘I Will Because I Know I Can’ leyi. He will wake up one morning and tell you to change the school your children attend and you will be there wondering what went wrong. Stay far away from them.

10. A man who doesn’t take the issue of rape and child molestation seriously:

Just take note of your conversations with him when the issue of sexual assault arises. If he is the type that always finds a way to blame the victim, either male or female, you should have a rethink. He is not a qualified father material. It will be dangerous for him to bath your kids. Forget that they are his kids too, we hear stories like that all the time.

In a recent interview with The Super Eagles Player of Nigeria and Lazio midfielder of Italy, Ogenyi Onazi, said that he got married early to resist temptations and grow with his children, adding that his settling down early, would boost his career and make him focused.

The player who has one goal in 36 international games for Nigeria, said, "Thank God for His grace. All thanks to God even if the process is not yet complete because we just went to the registry for now.

"It is something every man who wants to be responsible needs to do when the time comes. I made my choice this early because I want to grow with my kids."

Onazi revealed that the relationship had been going on for some years, and joked that it was not love at first sight. "I have been with her for four years now. I met her where she met me. It was not love at first sight; it was love at the last sight.

"She is so special and that should tell you why I got married to her. She is a woman with a good heart, loving and caring."

When he was asked why his wife is nicknamed ‘Louis Vuitton', he said: "I don’t know why but I think one of her friends called her the name because she used a lot of Vuitton product. She loves LV products. That’s her brand. Maybe that is why she is called that."

On the full marriage rights, he said: "The huge one will come but not too huge. Just something normal. No need to exaggerate. Registry oh! That was all we did for now. Well, we are planing for the wedding proper then we know what next. One thing at a time.

"Yes definitely. Boys are becoming men. My date for the big wedding is not made known yet but soon we will pick a date and everyone will be aware of it. This is the most important reason why I wanted to get married on time, because when you remember you have a family, it will help you to be serious.

"We know no one on earth is above temptation. But to some extent, we have to try as much as possible to resist as well, with responsibility we have as a family man. And I always pray to God to help me because to be sincere, it is not easy. Seriously; not easy."

The midfielder also spoke about his love for music and charity, saying: "I play music. I learn it right from when I was young, just like like football. Music is like playing football to me. Charity work I learnt from my daddy, TB Joshua; that is part of his teachings. I learn a lot from him and I can never write three words about my life without him."
