Two notorious robbers who attempted to escape with their loot after robbing a boutique owner in Port Harcourt earlier today, met their Waterloo as angry mob heavily descended on them.

 

Two robbers that robbed a woman who owns a boutique in the Trans-Amadi area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, and attempted to escape with their loot, met their Waterloo as they were caught by angry mob.

 

 

Below is how the story was shared online by an eye witness;

 

"I was on my way to Wema Bank on trans amadi road Port Harcourt around 11am today. Suddenly, i spotted a crowd gathered in front of a shop close to Mother-cat bus stop.

In their mist were two guys on the ground who appeared pummeled. I gathered that they were thieves that just robbed a female boutique owner in her shop along the same trans amadi road.

They escaped with their loot (in the that plastic bag beside the thief lying on the ground) with their bike but were caught by some mobile police men. One man amongst the crowd identified one of the thieves (the one sitting on the ground) as a notorious criminal who operates around rumuokoro axis.

 

On interrogation, they said they were poor and jobless."

An innocent 15-year-old girl has been hospitalized at the Nairobi Women Hospital after she was forcefully circumcised and brutally raped by her own brother and father's friend. The incident happened in Kenya.

 

The gruesome act which happened in Kenya has been widely condemned and Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki has said that perpetrators of the unjust act must be brought to justice.

 

She spoke after visiting the hospitalized girl at the Nairobi Women Hospital. According to Daily Nation Uganda, Kariuki said the act is the most atrocious anyone could commit.

"I have just received information about the young girl two hours ago and decided to come see her. This is the most atrocious act anyone can commit," said CS Kariuki.

 

The hospital said the girl was admitted Wednesday but declined to reveal further information.

Nigerian Artiste Advises on What to Do When You Have a Tyre Blowout Following James Ocholi's Death

Following the death of the Minister of State for Labour and Employment in a tragic crash, Nigerian musician, Duncan Mighty, has handed out tips on preventing a replica of that damage.

 

Popular Nigerian singer, Duncan Mighty, took to Instagram to post words of caution and advice on what should what happened to late Labour Minister, James Ocholi, happen again.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A TYRE BLOWOUT 

In the event of the unfortunate death of Nigeria's minister of state for labour due to an accident occasioned by a Tyre blowout and the fact that in Nigeria now-a-days, we have many untrained drivers, it has become pertinent for me to write this.

There are 6 simple steps to take within a maximum of 2 minutes and you will be safe, these by the grace of God I have been familiar with for decades. They are as follow:

 

(1) DON'T PANIC in the event of a blowout, calm yourself down fast because your car will start misbehaving and you need to take charge.

 

(2) Hold FIRMLY to your steering wheel with both hand, NO VIGOROUS TURNING, as you concentrate on the road and your mirrors, in seconds study the movement pattern of the car. Your car will naturally swerve to the direction of the burst Tyre.

 

(3) Gradually take off your foot from the accelerator, DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO PRESS THE BRAKES, IF YOU DO, YOU HAVE A 95% CHANCE OF A SOMERSAULT. The car will decelerate gradually while you concentrate on the road to avoid collision with any other road user.

 

(4) Disengage the gears of the car by shifting to neutral (N) as you still maintain a firm grip on the sheering wheel and put your eyes on the road.

 

(5) After a while depending on your initial speed, your car come to a speed less than 60km/h when it is now safe to GRADUALLY apply the brakes and navigate to the side walk

 

(6) Ultimately, it is now safe to put the car to a complete stop and turn off the engine. You have just saved yourself and passengers from untimely death.

NOTE:

 

Of course, everyone in the car will be in a panic mode BUT this is NOT THE TIME TO LISTEN TO THEM, it is TIME TO CONCENTRATE.

Technological inventions are being made up every day and the latest is the making of the world's largest plane which is reputed to be as big as a full stadium.

 

 

The world's longest aircraft is set to take its first test flight in a few days time.

 

The unique aerodynamic balloon-like shape of the Air-lander 10 - which cost $100 million (£60m) to make - can fly for five days straight, carry around 10-tons of cargo and land on water.

 

Measuring 302ft (92m) in length the new airship is about 60ft longer than the biggest airliners, the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747-8.

 

It generates lift through being filled with helium and it can travel at a top speed of 92mph.

 

 

To put the size of the object into perspective it's the length of a football pitch and as high as SIX double decker buses.

 

It's been made by Bedford-based Hybrid Air Vehicles, and the designers are also rumoured to be planning an even bigger version that will eventually be able to carry 50 tonnes at a time.

 

The company has received £2.5m of UK government funding to develop the technology and engineering for the project.

Hybrid Air Vehicles anticipate the Air-lander 10 will be used for commercial endeavours such as leisure cruises, and for transporting cargo to hard-to-reach places.

 

The Air-lander 10 - which can also stay floating, unmanned, for three weeks even with bullet holes in it - was originally developed from 2009 for the US Army, which abandoned the project.

 

 

Company spokesman Chris Daniels told Sky News: "It's not an airship. It's a mix between an aeroplane, an airship with a bit of helicopter thrown in.

"It uses the latest materials, it's got the latest fly-by-night technology, avionics and computer software.

"It's very much an aircraft for the 21st century."

 

But aviation expert David Learmount questioned whether there will be a big demand for it.

 

He also told the channel The Air-lander 10 was "highly specialist" and would not appeal to the "mass market".

In a shocking twist, the Department of State Service, DSS, on Monday, told a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, that it has uncovered plot by some pro-Biafra agitators, to invade the court and forcefully free the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu. 

 

The Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Mr. Mohammed Diri, who made the allegation, told trial Justice John Tsoho that the DSS has already commenced investigation on the planned invasion. 

 

However, Kanu has asked the court to dismiss and acquit him because of the inability of the federal government to produce any of the eight witnesses scheduled to testify before the court. Kanu through his lawyer, Chief Chuks Muoma, SAN, applied to be discharged and acquitted of the charge against them. 

 

They predicated their application on the provision of section 351(1) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015. Earlier, the DPP informed the court that the witnesses said they would not appear to testify against the defendants unless the are allowed to wear masks or their identities shielded from both lawyers and people observing the proceeding. 

 

‘My lord this is because they are already receiving threats from associates of the defendants that they will be dealt with. The witnesses said they love their lives and requested that their identities be shielded from people who are coming to witness the proceeding’, Diri added.

 

He said DSS operatives also billed to testify in the matter, made similar request on the basis that they are investigating terrorism cases and would not want their identities exposed. Justice Tsoho had on February 19, refused an application by the federal government which sought leave to mask the witnesses. 

 

The application was vehemently opposed by counsel to the defendants who urged the court not to allow ‘masquerades’ to testify before it. Meanwhile, the parties are still exchanging arguments on the application for the charge to be quashed and the defendants discharged and acquitted. ‎

 

It would be recalled that Kanu alongside two other pro-Biafra supporters, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi are facing a six-count treason charge. Kanu has been in detention since October 14, 2015, when he was arrested by security operatives upon his arrival to Nigeria from his base in the United Kingdom. 

 

The defendants were alleged to have committed treasonable felony, an offense punishable under Section 41(C) of the Criminal Code Act, CAP C38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria. FG alleged that they were the ones managing the affairs of the IPOB which it described as ‘an unlawful society’.
